FAI - The German Research and Study Group on Irish Philately - founded in 1982 - is a society with international members. It is mostly involved with research work around Irish Postal History. With approximately 260 members FAI is also one of the biggest research and study groups within the German Philatelic Association (BdPh).

FAI members are inter alia interested in postage stamps, fiscal stamps, stationery, postmarks, postal history, censor mail, air mail, etc. but also in Irish history and culture in general.

FAI experts give advice in their specific field of interest of the Irish philately.

FAI members also take part on events in Ireland such as STAMPA (the yearly national stamp exhibition). Good relations to An Post in the past lead also to improvements in dealing with philatelic aspects.

Within the last 25 years already 100 issues of the FAI-Journal “Die Harfe” on far more than 200 pages DIN A4 per year and more than 26 FAI-publications (handbooks, monographs or catalogues) have been published. Most of them can be regarded as being fundamental on Irish Philately and Irish Postal History.

Why not becoming a member of FAI?
